IMPROV
Improvisational theatre is a team of
students who prepare their own
scenes and enact
them before a group.
The scenes are then discussed with the
audience through a processor
to allow the audience
to
become a part of the scene.
Student actors are kept in their character
during part
of the discussion to better
understand viewpoints and develop
critical thinking skills of
the audience.
Topics are chosen based upon the needs of the group.
The
group prior to the presentation identifies
a topic or concern and the team develops 3 to 4
scenes to be presented and discussed within
45 to 60 minutes.
The scenes relate to
real life including
the serious as well as lighter side of situations.
The group has preformed at various
locations including Omaha Jr. and
Sr.
high leadership retreats, Columbus High School
AIDS Awareness day, June Jam
drug-alcohol
free retreat, State FCCLA conference,
Sertoma Club and classrooms within
the
Norris elementary, middle and high school.
The group enjoys performing for people of all ages
and of various groups.
