Description
Industrial Technology 7 is a 6 week course that explores the area of Industrial Technology, with an emphasis on Drafting. Each student will be given the opportunity to complete basic multiview drawings using the proper drafting equipment. We will explore how drafting knowledge applies its self through out the world of Industrial Technology. Also, each member of the class will design and construct a mouse trap powered car as an introduction to both transportation and working in a wood shop environment.


Categorical Objectives

Students will develop knowledge and appreciation of the importance of technology.

Students will learn how to apply drafting techniques in a multi-view drawing.

Students will identify and develop individual drafting talents.

Students will apply problem solving techniques to various drafting situations.

Students will apply math and science skills incompletion of drafting activities.

Students will utilize creativity to determine how industrial technology could be used to better
benefit society.

Students will study how industrial technology can be used to improve our environment.

Students will explore various industrial technology careers.


Writing Activities

Each student will write a paper spotlighting some adult they know who uses technology in their occupation. This paper is a descriptive summary of how the selected individual uses the technology to which they are assigned.
The paper will be at least a page long and will be typed and printed on a computer.

Students will write out the answers to the questions at the end of a chapter in the textbook.

Students will write out the answers to any handouts and worksheets that are assigned.

Students will write out any answers to the test questions.


Multicultural Activities

Students will learn about the history of drafting technology and how that affects all people.

Students will learn how drafting technology has evolved and who or what culture was responsible for its evolution.

Students will learn how other cultures are utilizing various technologies in the area of drafting.
