7th grade Consumer and Family Sciences

Young Living, N. Clayton, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, 2000

DESCRIPTION

This is a 6-week class for 7th grade students. The sewing machine/serger will be used and studied as students construct textile projects. (Lab fee required.) FCCLA meetings are a part of the learnings of the classroom.

CATEGORICAL OBJECTIVES

1. Students will study sewing equipment and machine safety and usage.

2. Students will study construction techniques of the lab projects.

WRITING ACTIVITIES

1. Students will use writing skills by using vocabulary words to explain content.

2. Students will use writing skills to answer study/work sheets and chapter review questions.

3. Students will use writing skills to create writings, poems, etc, to express oneself in relation to learnings.

MULTICULTURE ACTIVITIES

1. Printed material and media that represent various ethnic groups will be used.
