Body Conditioning

DESCRIPTION

Body Conditioning is a semester, elective course offered to students in grades 9-12. This class will deal primarily with techniques and development of specific muscle groups, and enhance overall strengths and fitness. Class content will include flexibility development and maintenance, weight training, and some cardiorespiratory development. The class is limited to 22 students is co-educational.

CATEGORCIAL OBJECTIVES

1. Students will demonstrate and execute proper techniques for weightlifting.
2. Students will carry out the safety concepts for weightlifting.
3. Students will lift weights and condition the body.
4. Students will perform the stretching routine daily to increase their flexibility.


WRITING ACTIVITIES

1. Students may be asked to make-up missed class by writing a report on a topic related to lifting weights and flexibility.
2. Students may be asked to write an evaluation of their in-class performance.
3. Students may be asked to write out their goals for the quarter/semester.S
