DESCRIPTION
This is a one-semester course for students 10-12. In this course students will
further explore the area of Graphic Design. Students will create professional
looking posters, brochures, product package designs, and multimedia applications
or presentations. Students will be asked to keep a sketchbook for notes,
brainstorming ideas, and image development. Programs that the student will be
using will include: Adobe PageMaker 7.0, Adobe Photoshop 6.0, Adobe Illustrator
8.0, and Macromedia Flash. Students must have satisfactorily completed
Introductory Art and Graphic Design.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Students completing this course successfully will be expected to:
A. Integrate this technology and techniques into graphic design
B. Have acquired skills in using various software programs (Flash, PhotoShop,
Illustrator, PageMaker).
C. Have an understanding of various uses of input (scanners, digital cameras)
and output (printer, world wide web) devices with the computer.
D. Be self-sufficient on the computer (file management).
E. Be neat and show craftsmanship
F. Be creative
WRITING ACTIVITIES
Each student will be required to take a series of tests that will include
vocabulary and essay question describing a specific learning activity or problem
solving process.
