Description of Course:
This course prepares students to plan landscape designs, including the selection, installation, and maintenance of landscape plants. Students will also learn the names of various landscaping plants.

Categorical Objectives:
The Student Will:
1. Classify and identify plants used in landscape designs.
2. Identify each phase of the landscape design process.
3. Recognize design principles used in landscaping.
4. Evaluate established landscapes given an evaluation instrument.
5. Recognize various materials used in landscape installation and maintenance.
6. Review career opportunities in the landscaping industry.
7. Complete Supervised Agricultural Experience Points.

Writing Activities:
The Student Will:
1. Use correct sentence structure on all tests, papers, and reports.
2. Write a report discussing the growing conditions of a landscape plant.
3. Prepare written evaluations of landscapes.
4. Write summaries on agricultural activities/careers/research to gain Supervised Agricultural Experience points.

Multicultural Education Activities:
The student will:
1. Observe diverse role models in the classroom, at community sites and at leadership workshops and conferences.
2. Use texts which provide accurate, specific, balanced representation of minorities.
3. Have equitable attention.
4. Receive unbiased career information in the field of agriculture.
