Third Grade Art TEXTBOOK
None DESCRIPTION In
third grade art, the student will be exposed to a variety of art forms including 3/D
art and different art mediums. The
student will learn more technical aspects such as proportion, shading, form and
space. The learner will concentrate
more extensively on art from other cultures including Native American, Asian
American, Hispanic American and African American. COURSE OBJECTIVES 1.
The student will be able to recognize color and value. 2.
The student will be able to recognize that line can show motion: spiral,
radial, and converging. 3.
The student will be able to recognize shape and form. 4.
The student will be able to recognize space in foreground, background,
and overlapping. 5.
The student will be able to recognize texture in various art media and in
the environment. 6.
The student will be able to recognize balance and proportion in art. 7.
The student will be able to utilize emphasis and contrast in art. 8.
The student will be able to create movement in art. 9.
The student will be able to recognize repetition and pattern in art. 10.
The student will be able to incorporate unity and variety in art. WRITING ACTIVITIES 1.
Each learner will demonstrate their knowledge of various information
through written examinations. 2.
Each student will write explanations of artworks created during the year. 3.
Each student will write stories that correlate with a specific art
project. MULTICULTURE EDUCATON ACTIVITIES 1.
Each student will view and discuss several art pieces from cultures such
as African American, Native American, Hispanic American and Asian American. 2.
Each student will
participate in many art projects based on ideas and
elements of the culture being studied.

Each student will study famous artists from many different cultures. |
