Shirley Montgomery

Shirley Montgomery joined the staff at Norris in the fall of
1982. Prior to teaching at Norris, she
spent six years in other Nebraska schools, one year as a legal secretary, and
four years working as a Certified Public Accountant. She still maintains her CPA license and continues to do tax
return preparation work from her home.
She received a B.S. in Business Education with high
distinction from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln in June 1971 and a M.A. in Business
Education from UN-L in August 1978.
Since then, she has accumulated 36 graduate hours above the master’s
degree.
She spends her spare time traveling with her family and
adding to her collection of license plates.
Her collection, begun in the early 1990s, has grown to well over 6,000
plates. Shirley and her husband have
set a personal goal of traveling to each of the nation’s 3,146 counties. The 83 percent mark was reached in
2006. |
