High School Courses

Economics in Action is a one-semester course which addresses the fundamental concepts of micro-, macro-, and international economics and applies them in intellectually engaging ways. Course activities may include:  organizing and operating a business,  The Stock Market Game, Economics Challenge, Finance Challenge, and Virtual Business Challenge. The course offers to students a great opportunity for any high school student to connect with the concepts of learning, earning, and investing.

Information Technology I is a one-semester course which focuses on the Microsoft Office applications of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The course is project-oriented as students complete various projects, large and small, and use folders to demonstrate the concepts of file management.

Macroeconomics is a one-semester course that begins the branch of economics that deals with a nation's economy as a whole. Macro focuses on the economic issues--unemployment, inflation, growth, trade, and gross domestic product--that are most often discussed in newspapers, on the radio, and television. Dual credit through SECC is available.

Microeconomics is a one-semester that studies the choices made by households, firms, and government and of how these choices affect the markets for goods and services. Dual credit through SECC is available.

Introduction to Entrepreneurship is a one-semester course in which students will evaluate the business skills and commitment necessary to successfully operate an entrepreneurial venture and review the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Students will understand the role of entrepreneurial businesses in the United States and the impact on our national and global economy.
