TODAY’S ACTIVITIES: Speech Team Yearbook Interview – 11:00 – Journalism Room
Seniors Last Day – Graduation rehearsal @ 11:00 – MS Gym
Preliminary fine lists have been posted for the freshman, sophomore and junior classes on the window in the office. Please remember that you must have all fines, fees, library check-outs, outstanding lunch balances and detention time served in order to complete your check out process. Receiving a 4th quarter grade report and processing your class schedule for the fall are contingent upon completing the check-out process.
FRESHMEN and SOPHOMORE TRACK GIRLS: If any of you placed first in an event at the Beatrice 9th/10th grade meet, please come and get your medals. They are now here.
ALL TRACK ATHLETES: If you are interested in attending a track camp this June please pick up a form in the girls or boys locker room before you leave for summer vacation. Just follow the information on the form if you are interested in attending.
TRACK GIRLS: If you haven’t already turned in your track gear, make sure you do so by tomorrow (Thursday). Coach Etmund will not be here on Friday to check it in.
Open Tennis in June, every Tuesday, Hickman Park from 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon, girls entering 9th-12th grade.
Students: Summer School registration is occurring now! Classes start next Wednesday, May 21st and run 9 a.m. through 12 p.m. through June 11th. You may take one class and earn a semester’s worth of credits. Further information including courses offered can be found on the home page of the Norris web site or hard copy in the main office.
Come to the Show Choir Show on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. This year’s show is “Rock Around the Clock” a celebration of rock and roll. Admission - $5.00
Lady Titan Soccer players, do not forget to sign up for your end-of-the season conference. Banquet is on Wednesday, May 14th at 5:30 p.m., please let teammates know if you need a ride. Turn in locks to Ms. Schroeder and uniforms to Coach Myers.
Students planning to take AP Language and Composition or AP Literature and Composition next year MUST have their parent permission forms to Mr. Carlson ASAP.
Josten’s will be here on Friday at 11:45 to deliver class rings. He will be located in the concession stand.

If you were unable to attend the All-Sports Awards Night on Friday, please stop by the office to pick up your letter certificate.
Sophomores who signed up to take AP History next year meet in Mr. Allen’s room during IAP on Thursday, May 15 for a brief meeting.
2008-09 Cheerleaders: If you would like to be considered a captain for next year, please see Mrs. Hansmeyer today for an application. Applications are due to by Thursday during IAP.
There will be a meeting for all juniors about senior portraits during IAP this Thursday, May 15th in the MPR.
There will be one more Summer Driver Ed. meeting on tomorrow at 8:10 a.m., in the high school multi-purpose room. We will hand out textbooks, manuals, and your course syllabus, so it is MOST important everyone.
Speed Development forms and money need to be turned in to Coach Allen by Friday, May 16.
Yearbooks are on sale through the end of the school year for $65 in Mrs. Renaud’s room. The fall price is $75. Balance due on all reserved books ASAP.

The PE Department will be collecting ALL locks from the locker rooms this Thursday and Friday. If you have lost yours – be sure you make arrangements to pay for it at that time. If you had a lock checked out earlier in the year and did not turn it in yet – please do so ASAP!

The final Norris Middle School CO2 races will be held next Thursday May 15th, from 3:45 – 5:30 p.m. in the north High School gym (formerly the middle school gym). Any eighth grader who built a C)2 dragster in tech class this year is eligible to participate. You must register your car by Wednesday, May 14th with Mr. Pedley in order to race. To register your car, sign up on the sheet in the office. If you are racing, arrange to be picked up no later than 5:15 p.m. We will need to have a few stay after the races and help with clean-up.

6th Grade Girls that did not attend a Volleyball meeting and are interested in playing as a 7th grader, please see Mr. Halvorsen to sign up. Extra volleyball calendar sheets are also available in the MS Office.
6th & 7th grade girls interested in taking part in the 5000 shot club this summer stop by Mr. Halvorsen’s room to pick up the form.
Boys Soccer players who would like to participate in summer camp can pick up information in the office. 8th Grade boys planning on playing in the summer soccer league should contact Coach Hutzler to register and make your payment.

08 Freshman Football Players. We will be doing speed testing Tuesday, May 13th. Meet in the Middle School Gym at 3:40. If the weather is bad bring your tennis shoes otherwise football shoes. If you have any questions see Coach Jenkins.

There is a Summer Trap League starting May 12th at the Izaak Walton League. Starts at 6:00 p.m. every Monday though June 23rd except Memorial Day weekend.
$6.00 for one round of 16 yard targets and one round of handicaps. Contact information is posted on the bulletin board.

All 5,6, and 8th grade math club and MATHCOUNTS participants are invited to an after school Barbecue tonight, meet in Mr. Price’s room. Mr. Price will provide hotdogs, Mrs. Field will bring dessert, and you are asked to bring pop, chips, salad, or other side dish. We’ll have some activities and certificates will be handed out.

Memory Books will be on sale from now until the end of the school year. Cost is $7. See Mr. Henning before school or at lunch in his office. Memory Books should be here by the end of the school year. Also, there are a few leftover memory books from last year that you could buy for $1 each if interested.
8th Grader Athletics, if interested in a Summer Speed Development Program starting June 3rd and running through July 24th, forms are available in the High School Office and must be turned in with payment by May 22nd. If you have any questions please see Mr. Allen in the High School.

If you are 12+ and are looking for summer employment get in touch with Bev at the Roca Berry Farm – 421-2933. Picking season will begin around the first week in June and last a couple of weeks.
Do you like music, do you have nothing to do tonight. Then come on out to the H.S. Auditorium tonight for the High School Spring Band/Coir Concert. This is always an enjoyable concert. Then on Thursday night come on out for the annual Show Choir Show (This is the show where they perform their competition routine as well as their own designed themed show – this year it is the 60’s) & Dessert to follow.
