Beatrice Country Club
The Norris golf team opens up their 2000 season at the Beatrice Country Club in the Beatrice Invite. This invite is often referred to as the "preseason state tournament" with the top schools from both class A and B from the previous year invited. Though the players are good, the course often gets the better of them early in the year. Beatrice Country Club requires precise accuracy on many tee shots. This course has been around for awhile so you can expect large mature trees guarding both sides of the fairway on almost every hole. Even when you get a straight drive down the middle, trouble can come quickly as your ball can roll into the "buffalo hollow" on the 323 yard but drivable number 6. The hollow very deep grass bunker in the middle of the fairway that often takes 2 or 3 swings just to get out.
