Ten
members of the Norris FFA Chapter recently attended the 2004
National FFA Convention October 27-30, 2004, in Louisville,
Kentucky. Members attended the world’s largest youth career
fair, observed many national FFA competitions, and attended
general sessions of the convention. At the career fair,
members organized a booth displaying different community
service activities completed by the Norris FFA that can be
replicated by other chapters in the future. The Norris FFA
was also named one of the top 10 FFA chapters in Nebraska
and was recognized as a 2-star FFA chapter at this year’s
convention. Norris FFA members topped off the convention by
touring Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby, and
attending a Dierks Bently and Trace Adkins concert. Members
attending were Megan Rice, Britta Doeschot, Ryan Dance,
Garrett Bouma, Hillary Schlake, Ryan Hagan, Cassie Krueger,
Anna Russell, and Darin Stueck. In addition, Kelsey
Ankerson participated in the convention, earning a spot on
the National FFA Choir. Kristyn Harms, Norris FFA Advisor,
also attended the convention.
