In recent years, the number of parents who are concerned about their children demonstrating symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder or Hyperactivity have skyrocketed. As parents seek to assist children whom they suspect may suffer from ADHD, a big part of the process is sifting through myths and misinformation and getting good baseline knowledge about what ADHD actually is, how it is diagnosed, and what interventions are most effective in treating the condition. BryanLGH is offering a free upcoming presentation entitled, “ADHD: Diagnosis and Treatment.” School staff as well as parents may be interested in attending this evening session. Knowing that some parents may be interested in attending, here is the description from the BryanLGH brochure:
ADHD: Diagnosis and Treatment Tuesday, March 18, 7-8:30 p.m. Attention-deficit/hyperactive disorder (ADHD) is a chronic disorder that affects millions of American children. ADHD can persist into adulthood and is associated with inattention, hyperactivity and impulsive behavior. Jawed Bharwani, MD, will define ADHD and discuss the terminology and etiology. He will also discuss what you can expect from your doctor during the diagnostic process and the variety of treatment options that are available. Dr. Bharwani is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with BryanLGH Heartland Psychiatry.
