President Gayle French called the meeting to order with 12 members present and Evan Lee and Annette Mitchell. Minutes from the September 24, 2001 meeting were approved as read. The treasurer's report showed an ending balance of $1016.56 in the checking account and $3343.48 in the savings account. The treasurer's report was approved.
OLD BUSINESS: President Gayle French asked the Secretary to send a sympathy card to the director of the Seward High School band regarding their recent bus accident.
Mrs. Mitchell reported that the All-State auditions results for choir should be on the internet tomorrow. The Show Choir performed at First nursing home today. Gayle was thanked for her help with the choir costumes. The upcoming schedule was reviewed.
Mr. Lee reported Division 1 scores at all band performances to date. The band's score at Seacrest jumped 8 points. The final competition will be at Seacrest this weekend with the awards at 10:00pm. The home game on October 25 with be the final appearance of this year's marching band. The Music Boosters looked at the trophies received to date.
Gayle reported pizza had been ordered for the band this weekend. The bus sponsors are Janis Dymacek, Ron and Becky Herms, Sherry Wright, and Gail Schmidt. The Music Boosters will buy pizza for the show choir on October 24 and the cost will be $90 at Pizza Hut.
The bake sale will be on parent-teacher conference night and calls will be made next week. Gayle will let the callers know the number of brownies needed. Becky Herms will help with the teacher meals on Monday, the 29th, at 3:00pm.
NEW BUSINESS: The pie sale certificates come 5 to a sheet and will sell for $50. Gayle will initially get 200 numbered certificates. Music students can start selling them on November 5 and the fundraiser will close on January 7. The plan has been approved by Mr. Bates. Return money or certificates to Gayle. Money earned can be used by siblings or for camps, costumes, or fees.
The next meeting is November 26 at 7:00pm. No meeting in December.
