The Norris Titans 8th grade boy's spirit and twin rivers team would take on the Elmwood Knights for the second year in a row.  The Norris Titans 8th grade team would come into this game with a record of 12 wins and 5 losses, including the YMCA New Years Basketball Bash.  Ron Emerson and Stan Rudder coach the Titans.  They coached the Titans to a victory last year against Elmwood and a record of 25 wins and 8 losses, including tournaments. The Titans would be missing Nolan Rudder for the game against Elmwood. The game against Elmwood this year would be played on Sunday February 10, 2002, at Elmwood.
The first quarter would begin with Josh Kendle tipping the ball off to Taylor Kendle who would make a lay-up and put the Titans ahead 2 to nothing.  Elmwood would score quickly off a fast break, which tied the score.  On Elmwood's next possession they would score again.  In time the Titans would

make one free throw by Jacob Bartling and Thomas Winniger.  Elmwood would also make a free throw to end the first quarter with a score of 5 to 4 in favor of Elmwood.
The second quarter would get a little better for the Titans.  Elmwood would score quickly which put them up by three.  Then the Titans would come down the floor to tie the score up with a three pointer from Tyler Emerson.  Elmwood would not score for a while, which left the Titans go up by two with free throws from Josh Kendle.  The Titans would score two more times before Elmwood would score.  Brandon Tyndall connecting for two then Josh knocking down two more free throws.  Soon the quarter would end with a turn around score 15 to 11 in favor of the Titans.
The half would end and the third quarter would start.  The Titans started to pull away from Elmwood.  Elmwood would score only 4 point in the third quarter compared to 10 points scored by the

Titans.  Josh Kendle would make up 7 of the ten points for the Titans and Jacob Bartling and Spencer Werner would make up the other 3 points.  At the end of the third quarter the score would increase for the Titans, with the score of 25 to 15.
The fourth quarter would be a little better for Elmwood, scoring 8 points in the fourth quarter.  Still this would not be a enough for Elmwood to overcome the might Titans.  The Titans would score 15 points in the fourth quarter, with Thomas Winniger scoring 8 of the 15 points.  Spencer Werner, Taylor Kendle, and Josh Kendle would finish up the rest of the 15 points.  Defensively Jason Plouzek, Josh Kendle, and Derek Moormeier helped out quite a bit. The final score would be 40 to 23 in favor of the Norris Titans.  The next game is on 2-16-02.
